Scrub me & your spray tan

Here over at scrub me headquarters we love spray tans!  Not only do they give you a healthy glow but they keep your skin healthy too.  According to the experts at skincancer.org, more than 419,000 cases of skin cancer each year in the United States are linked to indoor tanning.  If that reason isn't enough to scare you away from those UV rays, think about this, more than 90% of visible changes in the skin attributed to aging are caused by the sun.

Spray tan and sunless tanning are the most positive ways to achieve that "natural glow" or "vacation tan" you crave.  We've got some tips and product ideas that can help with your entire sunless tanning experience.

BEFORE:

Before you get a spray tan or apply sunless tanner you will want to prep your skin.  Using the sea salt body scrub once a day or every other day will keep dead skin cells from sitting on the surface of your skin.  Sunless tanners can absorb more easily into the surface of your skin when you do not have dead cells blocking it.  Also, we recommend using your sea salt treatment in the days coming up to your tan because you will not be able to exfoliate or recieve it's benefits for 5-10 days or however long your spray tan lasts.

DAY OF:

On the day of your spray tan you should wash with one of our soap bars and forgo your sea salt body scrub.  Why you ask?  Our body scrubs provide an awesome hydration but, you want the surface of you skin clear of oils and moisturizers right before your sunless tan.  Products such as that can also inhibit tanner from soaking into skin.

DURING:

You want your spray tan to last as long as possible! Moisturizing is key in extending the life of your tan.  Whipped shea butters are perfect for hydrating your sunless tan.  The intense hydration keeps your skin from drying out and sloughing off more quickly.  With most tans it is suggested that you stay away from long hot baths in order is keep your color from fading.  Sometimes a long bath is the only cure for a long day, we know the feeling!  Our bath bombs include shea butter and no harsh detergents.   The shea in these bombs will cling to your skin, giving it an extra coating.  This helps your tan from fading like it would from a regular bubble bath.

scrub me secret: Shea butter can be applied to damp skin after a shower. Do this and let your skin air dry for a few minutes after and it will prevent you from rubbing your color off with your towel.

AFTER:

It's always a bummer when your color starts to fade.  We've got some ways to best ease your pain.  The best part about this is you get to exfoliate again, hurray!  Normal exfoliation with your sea salt body scrub or man soap is best for removing most of your sunless tan.  There are always places on your body where your color seems to be "stuck".  Whether it be your knees, elbows, or in-between toes, you might need some extra exfoliation.  Felted soaps are an amazing tan buffer.  Think of felted soaps as your spray tan magic eraser.  The wool fibers combined with the soap are excellent for buffing away stubborn, stuck sunless tanner.

Our "try me" packages are a great way to get the products you need  before, during, and after a spray tan.  These smaller packages will be enough to last you about two months (thats 3-4 tans).  Like i said before, we here at scrub me are big fans of spray tans! We've been spray tanning for 5+ years and don't plan on stopping.  If you have any inquiries about how our products can best help with your sunless tan or even just a question about sunless tanning itself, we are happy to answer them.  Happy scrubbing!
