Facial yoga is a practice that can help firm, tighten, and lift the skin. Performing these facial exercises daily can prevent signs of aging, lift jowling, and smooth the face & neck. Yes, you may look a little silly but the anti-aging benefits are irresistible! These movements shown below can be done one after the other for a full facial yoga session. Or feel free to pick a couple moves you like and do multiple sets.
scrub me secret (from Katherine): I’ve never done facial yoga before I started research for this blog. ever since I started i’ve been hooked! I now implement a few of these exercises into my daily routine.
Lifting & smoothing the front of neck and underneath the chin: Look up while pouting and pushing your lips towards the ceiling. Repeat this move 10-12 times, then relax the face.
Strengthening and smoothing the sides of neck: Tilt your head from side to side, reaching your ear towards your neck. Do this for 60 seconds.
Defining & lifting the cheek bones: Make your mouth into an “O”, pulling your cheeks forward. Then , relax your face. Repeat this 10-12 times.
Smooth your forehead and strengthen above your eyes: Widen your eyes and slightly lift your brows, then release. Try your best to not scrunch your forehead, the focus should be on widening your eyes. Repeat this move 10-12 times.
Lift and smooth jowl lines: Fill your cheeks with air and swish the air from side to side. Repeat this a few times on each side, let the air sit in each cheek for 15-20 seconds.
Lift and smooth jowl lines #2: Smile and use index fingers to lift cheeks from your jowl lines and release. Repeat this movement 20-25 times
