Esthetician recommended: 5 skincare products to splurge on.

Feeling like treating yourself? These serums, eye cream, and moisturizers are worth every penny! When I’m spending a good amount of $$ on skincare I need to know that it’s really going to deliver results. You’d be surprised at the expensive skincare products I’ve come across over there years that are for lack of a better word..garbage. With so many different skincare items out there to choose from it’s hard to distinguish between the bad, the so-so, and the great skincare products out there. Here’s my list of 5 skincare items I am in love with!

scrub me secret: I heard a fashion blogger talking the other day about how she likes to style her outfits in a “high/low” method. This means mixing high-end designer pieces with really affordable items she likes. I like the idea of having a skincare routine at home that is “high/low”. At home, I have some higher-end serums and eye cream alongside a great affordable cleanser, toner, etc.

These thoughts and product recommendations are my own. No paid advertising here! Just my straight up real recommendations.

Reverse Longitude PM Serum Shot: $95

I love this serum because it provides skin firming, fine line removing, and antiaging benefits without the sensitivity side effects that can come with an intense retinol product. My skin has never liked concentrated retinol serums or Retin-A. I was on a mission to find something that would help prevent aging and diminish some on-coming fine lines that didn’t make my skin red, sensitive, and itchy. This serum contains a plant-based version of retinol called bakuchiol. It also contains retinaldehyde which is a version of retinol but not the same; as well as antioxidant algae.

Use this serum 4-7x a week in the evenings for skin smoothing and anti-aging effects. I have definitely noticed a difference in my skin.

scrub me secret: I use all these skincare items I have listed here. Some I have been using for over 6 years!

PCA-

C&E strength serum:

$110

A great vitamin C serum (like this one) strengthens skin, defends against environmental damage, prevents aging, and helps even complexion. I say this to all my facial clients, when choosing a vitamin C serum you must choose a really well-formulated product. If your vitamin C serum is not stable or does not contain the correct form of vitamin C then it’s not going to give your skin that free radical defense we are needing. This serum has an active and potent form of vitamin C called ascorbic acid. This serum really checks all the boxes for me!

Learn more about vitamin C in my blog post “Understand vitamins A, B, & C in skincare.

Use this serum daily, in the morning only, underneath your moisturizer for anti-aging benefits and a more even complexion.

PCA-

ideal complex eye cream: $90

This eye cream has been in my daily skincare routine for years and years. A few times I have switched it up just for fun to try out a new product and within a month I made my way back to this product. This eye cream contains plumping peptides as well as a bark extract that firms both upper and lower eyelids. The great thing about this eye cream is that I find it really does work to fade dark circles, lift the overall eye area, and prevent/reduce crow’s feet. Daily use of this eye cream is needed to get the results you want to see!

Keep up the consistency! Within a month of daily use, you’re going to start seeing an improvement in your eye area.

scrub me secret: at scrub me skin care studio I like to use a blend of effective plant-based skincare items, natural materials from the earth, and clinical skincare products to get the best facial results! I like PCA as a clinical skincare line because I trust all of the products and ingredients to deliver results without compromising skin health. Using both plant-based products and clinical skincare is the way I can really detail and customize your facials. At scrub me skin care studio I sell all PCA products along with the scrub me items. You can purchase any items with me for 15% off.

Dr. Goldfaden MD-

Wake up call moisturizer:$85

Dr. Goldfaden Md is a skincare line I can really trust to use ingredients that are good for our skin. This creamy, hydrating face cream has a list of ingredients that will make your skin happy and plump! I love this as a nighttime face cream in the wintertime especially. The reason this product is so great compared to other moisturizers is the small amount of retinol. This retinol paired with skin moisturizing and strengthening ingredients like avocado oil and co-enzyme q10 is amazing for anti-aging.

This moisturizer is going to work on actively firming your skin while keeping it plump with moisture.

May Lindstrom Skin-

the blue cocoon beauty balm: $180

This rich and luxurious feeling balm immediately turns into an oil when applied to the skin. It contains one of my favorite luxury skincare ingredients, blue tansy. Blue tansy smells AMAZING and also provides anti-inflammatory and healing properties. This blue cocoon balm also contains a nice variety of vitamin and mineral-rich oils and essential oils that contribute to a healthy complexion.

Get ready for your skin to feel so soft and glowy after massaging this into your skin.

Looking for great skincare without the premium price tag? I definitely have some recommendations for you that I’m excited to share! Next week I’ll be sharing a blog post with 8 skincare products under $30 that are esthetician recommended. You better believe there will be some scrub me items on that list!

scrub me secret: the scrub me products that I make and retail are all under $40. when I first created my skincare line I was really conscious of making the products affordable for everyone and I have always done my best to stick to that. luxury skincare items are great but you don’t necessarily need a high price point for a high-quality product.
