Gua sha facial massage: lymph drainage movements.

See this search field in the original post

Incorporating a few gua sha lymph drainage movements into your at-home skincare routine has so many benefits! Facial lymph drainage using a gua sha stone helps to de-puff the face, minimize redness, and even out overall complexion. During the holiday season, it’s hard to not indulge in some sugar, alcohol, and salty foods. All these things can leave us looking and feeling a bit ruddy and puffy. Lymph drainage can help you look less puffy and more glowy!

Grab your gua sha stone, your favorite facial oil, and start practicing these lymph drainage movements shown in my videos below. I suggest choosing 2-4 of these movements to incorporate into your weekly skincare routine. You can do these moves daily or every other day. I like to fit facial massage into my skincare routine in the evenings after I cleanse, apply a hydrating toner, and facial oil.

scrub me secret: facial gua sha massage has cumulative effects. This means the more consistent and disciplined you are about your routine the more benefits you will see, and these benefits will be long-lasting! Lymph drainage massage usually results in immediate, visible de-puffing and over time you’ll notice less redness and a healthier skin tone.

I am using my Wildling beauty gua sha stone for this.

This move activates lymph drainage. It’s important to start your facial massage with this movement so you can get the most benefits out of whatever other lymph drainage motions you choose.

Use the “U” edge and drag downward in short motions under the ear. Do this 3x on each side

This move helps contour the jawline and lower part of our face. I’m using the Wildling Beauty gua sha stone.

Use the “U” edge and glide your stone across your jawline, starting at your chin. Use one hand to keep your skin taut. Do this 3-5x on each side

This move helps drain toxins and lymph fluid the side of our face and firm the cheek area. During gua sha massage your face should be lightly covered with facial oil for the right amount of slip.

Use the comb edge or a smooth edge and glide your stone slightly upward and across your cheek, starting by the edge of your mouth. When you get to your ear, give the stone a little wiggle. Use one hand to keep your skin taut. Do this 3-5x on each side

This move helps drain toxins and extra lymph fluid that makes our cheek and under-eye area look puffy.

Use the “U” edge to glide along the apple of your cheek, starting near your nose and gliding outward toward the top of your ear. A little wiggle at the end helps to active more lymph flow. Do this 3-5x on each side

This is for an area that so many of us want to de-puff, the under eyes! This movement is definitely one that I suggest adding to your routine daily or every other day.

Use a small tip of the stone and glide from the inner part of your eye, outward. Use gentle pressure for this delicate area Do this 3-5x on each side

Above the eye lymph drainage movement can help open up our eye area and make us look more awake and fresh. Yes, please!

Use the “U” edge to glide along your brow bone. Trace the area until you end up at your temple or hairline. A little wiggle at the end is optional here. Do this 3-5x on each side

Just like the first movement I showed, this final move is important for activating lymph movement. The more drainage we can get, the more toxins we can remove from the blood and lymph in our facial area, resulting in less puffy and more clear skin.

Use a flat edge or comb edge and gently drag it from the middle of your forehead, down the side of your face, and down the neck. Wiggle the stone when you reach your collarbone.
