Incorporating veggies, berries, and fruit into my daily diet is something that’s important to me. It feels really good for my body when I’m eating these nutrient-rich foods AND I know it will contribute to glowy, healthy-looking skin.

Often I share skincare treatment and skincare product recommendations that will help you have the best looking and feeling skin. Today I’m sharing my smoothie recipe that contains lots of hydration, vitamins, and antioxidants that give us skin that glows from the inside out!

scrub me secret: Ever since I found out all the amazing, rich antioxidant benefits of the superfood lingonberries I always add some to my fruit smoothies. I first talked about this lesser known berry in my blog post “infused water recipe for glowing skin

Berry & Greens smoothie for glowing skin

Put all the items below in a blender:

  • 1 cup kale or spinach (or a combo of both)

  • 1/4 cucumber

  • a handful of fresh or frozen berries of your choice (I chose blueberries and blackberries)

  • 1/2 frozen banana (optional but I like it for texture & sweetness)

  • 2 TBS frozen lingonberries

  • 1/4 cup juice from an orange

  • 1/2 cup water

Blend until smooth. Put in your favorite drinking glass or mason jar and enjoy!

✨ Benefits of this smoothie: One serving of kale (which this smoothie has) contains great amounts of vitamins A, K, B6, and C, calcium, and potassium. Cucumber is high in water content and adds hydration as well as provides anti-inflammatory properties. Frozen berries are tasty, and naturally sweet and give the smoothie a big dose of anti-aging antioxidants, and vitamin C. Lingonberries are my secret superfood for boosting skin radiance; these little berries have a lot of free radical-fighting antioxidants and nutrients. The half-frozen banana is a nice way to get in natural sweetness and thicken the smoothie. The juice from the orange also adds natural sweetness and more vitamin C.

Having this smoothie or something similar a few times a week gives your body so many great nutrients, and soon your skin will start to reflect the health benefits! Incorporating fresh green veggies, berries, and fruits rich in vitamins into your daily diet will make your skin look healthy and radiant.

scrub me secret: for smoothie prep, about once a month I purchase already frozen organic berries and a bundle of bananas from the grocery store. I let the bananas ripen and then I peel and freeze them. I get my fresh produce like cucumbers, oranges, etc about once a week. My lingonberries I get shipped from NorthWest Wild Foods and I don’t need to replenish too often.
