Body Treatments & Products I Love For Summer, or Anytime!

It’s a body care blog! It’s no surprise that summertime is a time when we focus on body care products and treatments just a little bit more than usual. The weather is warmer and some of us are even lucky enough to have a getaway to a beach or tropical vacation 🏝. I always get more bookings for body treatments like back facials and the body polish and I get a lot of questions about body care items such as lotions, sunless tan, scrubs, and SPF.

This doesn’t mean that taking care of the skin on our bodies isn’t a year-round job, because we definitely always want to tend to our skin head to toe. BUT, I know the demand for having flawless and healthy feeling arms, legs, chest, back, and butt goes way up during summertime. So here is a blog that covers all your current body care needs.🧡✨

Places I love for body treatments:

All these places I’m listing are located in the city of Chicago 🌃

The best lymphatic drainage body treatment -

Freeze & Float Spa ➡️The Signature Lymphatic Duo

I absolutely love treating myself to this treatment. This lymphatic body massage begins with a technician applying detoxifying magnesium gel and wrapping your body before you enter an infrared sauna. During this time you get to meditate and relax (my favorite) while you detox and sweat in this sauna. After this detox, you are unwrapped and get to rinse yourself off before you head off to a dreamy 1hr lymphatic drainage body massage where they use many different tools to firm, de-puff, and awaken your skin.

I always leave feeling super soft, firm, renewed, and like my cellulite is less visible.

The best luxury body scrub -

Kholer Spa Lincoln Park ➡️ Any Hydrotherapy Treatment

Sometimes you just want to treat yourself to something that feels a little extra luxurious, and this is exactly that! A hydrotherapy treatment means your body treatment will take place under a Vichy shower while you lay on a wet-room bed. The Vichy shower sprays warm water onto your entire body from above and makes the room feel like you’re in a rainforest! As you relax under the warm water a technician exfoliates your body and provides you with aromatherapy.

Kholer Spa is also a nice treat because there is an area with hot tubs, lounging chairs, a steam room, and a sauna that you are welcome to hang out at before and/or after treatment.

scrub me secret: at scrub me skin care studio I offer a body scrub treatment called the “body polish” that has fewer frills but is still oh, so relaxing. I exfoliate your body using a dry exfoliation to boost circulation and buff away dead skin cells before I massage in my handmade shea butter.

The best steam room + soak -

AIRE Baths ➡️ 90-minute Ancient Baths

I’ve never gotten a massage or body scrub at AIRE only because I am always craving the 90-minute bath experience when I visit. It’s SO good. This self-guided bath experience provides access to all the plunges, hot tubs, and steam rooms for an hour and a half. The AIRE Chicago facility is much larger and more relaxing feeling than locations I’ve visited in other states.

My favorite thing to do is hang out in the eucalyptus steam room for a few before I submerge my body into the in-steam room cold plunge. I also love to alternate between soaking in the hot tub and the larger cold plunge tub, it’s great for circulation!

The best DEEP tissue massage -

Moon Rabbit Acupuncture ➡️ Deep tissue massage w/Jon

The thing I love about Moon Rabbit is it’s a cute, serene wellness studio where you can get a true physical therapy equivalent deep tissue massage performed by Jon. While this space offers a wide variety of wellness and body treatments that I’m sure are amazing, Jon is quite the standout massage therapist. Many of my peers and clients visit him for a deep tissue massage with a focus on areas with muscle tension, knots, and/or injury. Jon is known to be knowledgeable and effective. Be sure to be ready for a massage that “hurts so good”.

scrub me secret: SAT NAM yoga studio located in Chicago’s west loop area has some amazing sound bath therapies. This is where sound bowls or gongs are used to guide you through a deeply meditative wellness experience. I enjoy these services so much and gain a lot of benefits from them each time.

My current favorite body skincare items

Josh Rosebrook vitamin C cream

With ingredients like niacinamide, pea peptide, and vitamin C you’d think I was describing a luxury facial serum. Behold! It’s a bright and citrusy smelling body cream.

This nutrient dense vitamin-c cream has a thick, moisture rich feel but absorbs quickly and gives your skin a super firm feel when it dries.

Ology Essentials Body Oil

This invigorating body oil has more than a couple benefits and thats why I love it so much! You can use this to relieve sore muscles, aid in relaxation, or give the skin on your body a gleaming glow.

This blend of fractionated coconut oil (a less pore-clogging coconut coil), hemp seed oil, and jojoba oil creates a great texture/feel for a body oil. Added CBD isolate helps reduce inflammation in the skin and muscles in the areas where you apply the oil. This is really helpful for sore muscles. The blend of essential oils: Peppermint, Rosemary, Sweet Basil, Black Pepper, Ginger, plus more is so unique and invigorating that you’ll want to use it as aromatherapy. This blend of essential oils also aids in relief of muscle soreness.

Sunday Riley Good Genes

This popular facial care item is something I like to use on areas of my body that have the tendency to breakout. Since I indoor and outdoor cycle often I tend to experience breakouts on the backs of my legs. This treatment serum has been really helpful.

The blend of glycolic and lactic acid in this serum travels deep into the skin and helps to resurface and reduce debris and excess oils. I find it best to apply to areas on the body with breakouts after cleansing, before I go to sleep.

Scrubby gloves

To be honest, I use these scrubbing loofah gloves much more often that I use my dry brush. I use them while dry, on dry skin to get the deepest exfoliation and a large boost of circulation. I find them very easy to use, meaning that I’m more likely to use them more often.

You can use these gloves on dry skin before or after showering a few times a week. I like to scrub in circular motions around my joints (knees/elbows) and up & down motions on other areas.

scrub me soaps

Since scrub me soaps are the only soaps I use I had to put them on the list! Cleansing with a well-formulated bar soap can help reduce skin ailments like keratosis pillaris, sensitivity, extreme dryness, and breakouts. My sensitive skin needs a product with high-quality and minimal ingredients.

scrub me soaps are made using nutrient rich oils, essential oils, clays, oats, activated charcoal and other ingredients from the earth. I do not make my soaps with fragrance/perfume, sulfates, parabens, or formaldehyde. Each soap bar is formulated to target different skin issues.

What are your favorite body care items or places to visit for body treatments? I would love for you to share and add to my list! 🧡
