A great home skincare routine is a must wouldn’t we all say? And an amazing skincare routine doesn’t even have to be too complicated! Once you have established which cleanser, moisturizer, SPF, and other skincare items work well for your skin routine it’s time to start adding in other self-care/skincare habits like face massage and at-home treatment masks.

This list of treatment masks includes products that I find to be effective for treating various skin concerns and reaching your goals of healthy, clear, glowing skin.

scrub me secret: resist the urge to mask too often! I know it can be tempting if you find a mask that you love to use every day or every other day but if you use a detoxifying or exfoliating mask too often it can end up making your skin dried out, unbalanced, and overall sensitized. And if it’s a hydrating mask, using it more than 3x a week is wasteful.

The best face masks to use at home

scrub me secret: another thing I love about this colloidal oat mask and the josh rosebrook hydration I’m listing below is that you can leave these masks on your skin for hours if you would like. Unlike detoxifying or exfoliating masks that need to be removed within a certain number of minutes.

scrub me secret: theres a difference between your skin feeling warmth or a “tingly” feeling and a stinging burning feeling from a product. Feeling warmth or a “tingle” means the product is doing its job in creating circulation/ blood flow in your skin, resulting in a flushed looking face for a little bit after the mask is removed. This is a good thing! If you feel a stinging or uncomfortable burning sensation, thats not the reaction we are looking for from a product and it should be removed.

scrub me secret: for a facial scrub you need exfoliants that have soft, cylindrical edges. Anything with jagged or sharp edges like salts and roughly ground nut shells will create micro-tears in the skin that cause damage that results in a sensitive-looking or uneven complexion.

These are all masks that I have used myself personally and/or in the skincare studio on my facial clients! Do you have a favorite treatment mask? I would love to know. 💭
