Winter Skin Savior: Hydrating Facial Steam Tutorial
In the wintertime, dry and cold air actually wicks moisture away from our skin. Yes, the air is actually stealing our skin’s hydration, rude! This at-home facial steam adds hydrating molecules to our skin, helping it to feel softer, smoother, more even, and luminous. It’s a perfect at-home activity for a cold winter day!
🧖♀️ All you need is a bag of tea, a ceramic or oven-safe bowl, a bath towel, and a kettle or pot to boil water.
Cleanse your skin, exfoliate or apply a mask if desired, and then use a hydration mist or a hydrating toner. Finally, steam. Use a moisturizer or facial oil for the best effect and softest skin.

Your New Favorite Way to Steam Your Skin
Follow along as I show you how to safely and effectively steam your face at home!
We are creating a calming, nutrient-rich steam today using a chamomile tea bag. Using a green tea bag would add more antioxidants to the steam, and I love that too!
Why Facial Steam Helps Winter Skin:
Our skin lacks hydration in these less humid months, but we can help give some hydration back! Water molecules from the steam travel to our skin and give it hydration, which it can absorb and lock in. Using a tea bag in your facial steam water gives the hydrating steam added nutrients and antioxidants that help overall complexion, skin health, and in some cases have calming effects.
