New things for scrub me™ skin care studio!
It’s definitely an understatement to say that 2020 threw us all a little curve ball! While this world pandemic affected goals & plans for all of us it doesn’t mean we still can’t make the most of this year. I can’t wait to start working with my facial, waxing, & sunless tan clients again and am looking forward to sharing new treatments and my NEW SKIN CARE STUDIO with everyone in June.
scrub me secret: As a beauty practitioner working in Chicago I was unable to take clients for over 70 days due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After a couple of weeks of initial anxiety over not being able to operate my business or life as normal, I realized this was some down-time I didn’t know I needed so much. During this time away from the skincare studio I relaxed, took personal time, reset, & had the time to work on other aspects of scrub me. I learned new things that I am eager to share with you all and feel a new surge of creativity and love for skincare/wellness.
New scrub me™ skin care studio location in Wicker Park!
My skincare studio has moved from the Halsted location in River West to a studio space in Wicker Park. I was so sentimental about the Halsted location because it was scrub me™ skin care studio’s first home, I took some time to say my proper goodbyes before I moved on. What makes me so excited about the new space is that I’m sure you’re all going to absolutely love it! scrub me™ skin care studio is moving into a space with newly constructed salon suites; construction wrapped up in late May so the studio is going to be totally brand new. It will be the same relaxing, clean, & comfortable vibe with some added bonuses! In the same building as scrub me™ skin care studio, there will be other beauty businesses for you to check out like hair & lash services. This could end up being your one stop shop for beauty.
This new Wicker Park location at 1425 N Milwaukee is something that’s great for a few reasons; the neighborhood is super cute and has a lot of food, fitness, & shopping to offer. There is also more ample parking than the previous skin care studio and is near CTA bus and train stops. I’m confident the new space will make some of your visits even better!
scrub me secret: The salon suites will give me a great opportunity to meet and get to know more peers in the beauty business. I’m sure I’ll meet some talented practitioners that specialize in hair, lashes, brows, etc that I can refer to you!
Gua sha facials at scrub me skin care.
Facial massage is something that I value a lot as an esthetician and like to incorporate it into most of my facial treatments. Facial massage not only benefits skin by lifting, firming, and draining puffiness but it also improves the health of the skin overall, helping us preserve youthfulness & radiance. Gua sha facial massage is a special type of treatment that uses a specific stone to massage the face. I have practiced some self-taught gua sha in the past but I really wanted to be able to unlock all the benefits gua sha facial massage had to offer. For the month of April, I took a highly credited gua sha course online from Green Beauty Academy where I learned in-depth about gua sha and was taught special facial protocols that have some major lifting, draining, and sculpting results.
A gua sha treatment creates results by releasing head/neck/face muscles so the muscles and skin tissue can then be manipulated, sculpted, and lifted. Stagnant lymph fluid that holds toxins and creates puffiness or “heaviness” in the face can be drained during a gua sha treatment. All this means I am able to sculpt jaw lines & cheekbones, brighten eyes, iron out wrinkles, firm skin, and help it look more lifted with gua sha facials. A gua sha facial massage takes about 40 minutes in the treatment room and will be customized to be geared towards the results you desire. Keeping up with gua sha treatments monthly is the best way to see major results. My new scrub me upgraded facial is a full facial plus the gua sha facial massage, I totally recommend this treatment! A 40min facial gua sha season is also now available on the skincare menu ala carte. I’m excited to share these new gua sha techniques I’ve learned with you all. I know you’re going to absolutely love it!
scrub me secret: for the month of May I’ve been giving my fiancé a gua sha facial massage tailored to his specific facial needs 2-3 times a week. I’ve been taking progress pictures to see what changes we can make in one month and we are seeing results! He benefits because he falls into total relaxation mode during face massage and I benefit because I have someone to practice my gua sha work on & experiment by taking progress pics! At the beginning of June, I’ll be sharing his May gua sha journey with you all.
Looking forward to seeing you all again starting in June 2020 at the new studio! Online and phone booking is available. Reach out by phone, email, or social media with any questions you have about the new scrub me™ skin care studio or skincare in general.
